Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning
![]()
The SEAL resource provides a framework for explicitly promoting social, emotional and behavioural skills, with built-in progression for each year group within a school. Are you using SEAL in your school? Have you taken a good look at the SEAL website for the ICT resources available? Many schools find SEAL highly beneficial and taking a little time to explore the website will lead you to ICT resources to support each theme, including jpegs, PowerPoints and Flash files.
The Photocards link allows you to access images which encourage children to explore feelings. You can actually download the jpegs and so easily import them into any software. Why not add them to your whiteboard software for quick annotation or import them into Photo Story and select styles of music to reflect the emotions?
Resources for each theme can be downloaded and include some very useful Flash files, for example theme 1 ‘New beginnings’ focuses on feelings and the resources contain a Flash file – ‘Feelings Identikit’ ,which will help the children explore feelings.
A site which will support some of the valuable SEAL work in school is Do2Learn which provides access, for example to emotion games.
