Safegaurding our children online is a growing concern. The BBC Stay Safe website is well worth exploring if you are considering developing or enhancing your existing approach to e-safety in school. It includes a range of resources with links to other useful sites.
We have a duty of care to provide the best guidance we can to our children. What age should e-safety be taught? What support is there in school for teachers in the event of a disclosure? Do you have a clear scheme of work which ensures children and staff are aware of how to stay safe online?
There are numerous sites out there to help you but why not start with the BBC’s Stay Safe site?
Other useful sites include:
CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) and ThinkuKnow
CEOP has been working with Becta, the Department for Children, Schools and Families, the Internet Proficiency group and GridClub to create this cool Cyber Café. Visit it now to help Griff and his friends stay safe while using email, chat areas, mobiles and other new technologies!
