Thanks to Richard from Dales Infants for pointing this one out to me! As the name suggests, it is a maths dictionary for children! Have a look!
This is a site which is still under construction but there’s so much to work with to support Key Stages 1, 2 & 3. Nine curricular subjects are covered from Numeracy, Literacy, Science and ICT to Music, Art and Languages.
CYBERCHASE teaches kids that maths is everywhere, everyone can be good at it, and it’s fun!
The Cyberchase website is based on a TV show. Teachers can see video clips, guides to episodes and character descriptions. In fact the Parent and Teacher section is excellent with tips, a quick tour to familiarise yourself and lots more.
There are two main sections:
Games – include interactive maths games and puzzles.
Quests – pupils can create their own cyber characters and go on cyber quests in these interactive activities.
Lots of maths topics to work with, including measurement, growth by doubling, inverse operations, decimals, negative numbers, place value, angle measurement, area and heaps more.
Children are encouraged to sign up using a nickname so a bit of e-safety is built in.
I really enjoyed exploring this site…..there’s so much there. Lots of the resources are great for use on your interactive whiteboard from word problems and logic puzzles to worksheets and maths games there’s sure to be something you and your children will enjoy exploring.
Never be without a numercy worksheet again – there are thousands on here to choose from. Read the rest of this entry »
Don’t forget about BBC Bitesize. There is a lovely little program on the KS2 site called Questionaut - ‘Journey through strange worlds and test your knowledge on this magical mission’. Make sure you have your sound on – well to start off with at least!
I found Jetski whilst browsing the Internet and thought what a fun game it would be to play on the interactive whiteboard. I then found the home page and discovered that there are a range of games for single and multiple users to fine tune not only maths skills but literacy too.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed exploring Sketchcast. It certainly has potential in the classroom. What is Sketchcast? Well, it’s a voice and video recording AND a written and visual explanation all in one! SO much potential. Read on to find out……
